Google Analytics + LeadButton

Yes — LeadButton works with Google Analytics. There's a GA4 and GTM dataLayer passthrough that forwards conversion events (widget opened, reply clicked, lead submitted), toggled on or off per site.

How it works

How LeadButton connects to Google Analytics

Turn the GA4/GTM passthrough on per site. LeadButton then pushes first-party events to window.dataLayer, so you pick them up in GTM and forward them as a GA4 conversion or Google Ads conversion. Alongside your own dashboard (open→lead conversion, time series) you measure everything in your familiar GA setup.

// LeadButton pushes conversion events to your GA4 / GTM dataLayer
window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
window.dataLayer.push({
  event: "leadbutton_lead",
  lb_site: "carmatch.nl",
  lb_widget: "generic-b2b",
  lb_channel: "whatsapp"   // whatsapp | form | call | link | livechat
});

Set up in three steps

1

Turn on the passthrough

Enable GA4/GTM per site in the back office; LeadButton starts pushing to the dataLayer right away.

2

Create a GTM trigger

In GTM, add a custom-event trigger on leadbutton_lead and route it to your GA4 tag.

3

Mark as a conversion

Mark the GA4 event as a conversion (and link it to Google Ads for conversion import).
